From ethanol-based polymers to powders and polyurethane dispersions, the Baycusan product portfolio provides beauty product manufacturers with a wide array of raw material choices to meet their formulating needs and satisfy consumer demands for high-performing beauty products.

A new addition to the Baycusan prepolymer family, Baycusan C 1010 polyurethane dispersion, helps formulators achieve the sought-after combination of long-lasting hold with a natural feel for hair products. These properties are achieved by the raw material grade forming a flexible and elastic film around the hair, protecting it from weather without leaving a sticky residue or flaking – an important criterion for Asian hair in particular. Baycusan C 1010 polyurethane dispersion can be found in waterborne hairstyling formulations such as waxes, lotions, creams and foams.

Covestro recognized early the need to combat premature skin aging caused by the increasing prevalence of air pollution, which takes the form of solid particles and liquid droplets. This type of pollution can cause young, healthy skin to age prematurely. Covestro developed concepts for a new generation of skin protectants. These concepts are based on Baycusan C 1004 polyurethane raw material. This beauty solution keeps pores clean and acts as an invisible barrier, protecting skin against particulate matter. Both Baycusan C 1004 and Baycusan C 1010 film formers are approved for the Chinese market.
